Message from the CEO - Re-Invention, Re-Structuring, Re-Emergence.

by S. Jay Lawrence 8. September 2009 15:11

Greetings,

GigaBeam has filed a voluntary petition for reorganization under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code.  You should know that we have we have a well structured plan in place and have entered into Chapter 11 with the support of our senior investors and secured note holders, who have committed to provide debtor-in-possession financing during the proceedings.  This will cover our ongoing expenses.  We are not closing are doors and we will be operating as usual.  We expect to emerge prior to the end of the year.

To sustain a high level of communications during the process, we have a number of outreach programs in place to keep our customers and suppliers well-informed about our business and also about the restructuring process as follows:

  • We will be hosting monthly webcasts, starting on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 10:00 am EDT.  We are welcoming you to pre-submit any questions to restructuring@gigabeam.com prior to these webcasts so that we might consider them for inclusion in the question and answer segment of those webcasts.

  • We have a micro-site set up with information about GigaBeam’s Re-invention, Re-structuring and Re-emergence plan.  The site will also house information from the webcasts, as well as written transcripts of the webcasts and a collection of information including FAQs about the process.  You can visit our micro-site at the following URL:  www.gigabeamcommunications.com

In the meantime, we will be engaging in other marketing enterprises to keep you up to date on our business and we encourage you to follow us on Twitter, FaceBook and others as well as to frequently visit our website, which will include regular entries to our blog, new case studies and other information.

For any who may be harmed by our filing, we are deeply saddened by any impact this may have on GigaBeam’s shareholders and other unsecured creditors.  We believe GigaBeam stands to play a critical role in the burgeoning broadband wireless industry and that potential needs to be preserved.  This is a regrettable but necessary move, which is part of the ongoing story of GigaBeam’s Re-invention, Re-structuring, and Re-emergence.  We remain . . .

. . . dedicated to forever changing telecommunications by making broadband communications available and affordable through new technologies, new business models and the vision and creativity of our team.  We do this with the highest regard for the human experience and uncompromising ethics and social responsibility.  Our technology offers the world unparalleled social and political benefits of truly ubiquitous high speed communications.

As always I thank you for your support.

Warm Regards,

Jay Lawrence
